Notice privacy-1
Privacy notice
This covers the beta request form on this site and the visit counts behind it. It is short because we keep very little.
What we keep
- Your email address
- The role and field of research you chose
- The tag in the link that brought you here, such as
?ref=mastodon, if there was one - Which version of this notice you agreed to, and when you asked
We do not keep your IP address, your name, or anything else with your request.
Why
To invite you to the ScholarScope beta, and to decide who to invite first. We will email you about your invitation and for nothing else. We do not sell, rent or share your request with anyone.
We keep it because you agreed to it on the form. You can withdraw that agreement at any time, and we will delete your request.
Where
Requests are stored by Neon in a Postgres database on Amazon Web Services in the eastern United States. The site is served by Vercel, which also runs the bot check and the rate limit on the form. To do that, Vercel processes your IP address while it handles each request; it is not added to your beta request.
The bot check runs a script from Vercel in your browser to tell people from automated traffic, and it may keep a small amount of data in your browser for that purpose.
Visit counts
We count visits with Vercel Web Analytics. It uses no cookies and does not follow you to other sites. It sees the page you opened, the site that linked you here, your country, and your browser and device type, and it recognises a returning visitor for at most one day.
How long
Until we invite you, and at most twelve months after you asked. Then your request is deleted.
Your choices
To see, correct or delete your request, or to withdraw your agreement, email chaoticqubit@gmail.com from the address you signed up with. We answer within a month.
Changes
If what we keep, where we keep it, or how long we keep it ever changes, this notice gets a new version, and we ask again before using your request under it.
